Screenplay Writing

Welcome to my Screenwriting Site

There will be lots of infomation specifically for screenwriting and especially for the aspiring screenwriter. There is so much information out there, so much to sift through, and after six years of planning, writing and developing my own stories into scripts I have built up a selective database of useful information.

Contests : There are many contests - some are little more than scams. I find that the best are those that do not offer huge financial prizes or promise to develope the next Oscar-winning script - ie: yours! Contests which offer useful prizes - and maybe some money - are the ones to go for for. Euroscript is a great example and I shall be starting with them. I shall add more competitions as I discover them. My list will not be exhaustive - but, in keeping with the spirit of this site, selective. Contests are indexed under "Recent Posts" by their deadline dates.

Courses and Workshops : Loads of these both on-line and off-line - again there's a need to be selective. Courses are listed under "Categories" according to their topic. I listed them this way rather than by date because even if you have missed a course the contact details included in the listing will b of use to you should be be seeking a similar course.

Festivals : There are some great screenwriting festivals - sometimes combined with film festivals - I let you know everything that I know.

Festivals are listed under "Categories" by the name of the festival. As most festivals recur each year details of previous dates and participants, as well as the contact details will always be useful. <!--- AUTHCODE MWKKYHZMCUBB --->

Useful Stuff : This section will be filled with advice and articles about the art and craft of screenwriting. I shall also recommend and review books, software, formatting programs and other stuff that I have found useful. All Useful Stuff is listed under "Categories" by topic.

My Screenplays : I have written 2 original full-length features and a few short scripts - please take a look and let me know what you think. One of the features has been shortlisted in 3 contest - so near and yet so far ......M

Great Scripts  : all screenwriters and especially aspiring screenwriters should read as many scripts as possible - the classics, the off-beat, the successful, the not-so successful - read and learn.

Links for Screenwriters : Screenwriting links that I like if you have a screenwriting site or blog that belongs here - let me know - email below.
